The adventures of Gistro and Bastwau.

My most current and favoured project. This is a book entaling the adventures of a young boy (Gistro) and his imaginary friend (Bastwau) as they fight against imaginary evils that unveil into the real world. The world is solely inhabited by Humans. There are no traces of the existance of plants and animals ever being there. Having been whiped from the records from the very corporate government that destroyed them, their memory has been lost even to the very same government. All air and food is artificially manufactured for humans to sit at home and watch television, hiding from a falsely dangerous world and wars that don’t exist. Gistro is a young boy in a very secluded family, unlike other families that do interact with each other, Gistro has never experienced other Humans. His imagination becomes a wonderous thing, not only creating characters based on the very plants and animals that were extinguished, but creating it’s own style of physics that slowly allows it to merge into his real world. A trilogy of short stories (or episodes as I will be calling them) will inveil the truths of his world, and his imagination will create a powerful change too much for the corporate government to control. These books will posses scenes of child abuse, incest, police brutality, violent & sexual scenes and a powerful message.

I have based the main character ideas on the cartoon show Adventure time, and have included a George Orwell style language (simply called ‘New Language’) where nouns have been changed by the corporate government for the control over identification.

Current character designs for The adventures of Gistro and Bastwau

Main characters.

Gistro (ge-stro [like D, but Ge]) - Humans are the last species on Earth, occupying over 80% of the landmass for homes with the other 20% used for artificial food and oxygen production. Gistro was born into a seclusive family, each member hiding from interaction with another human. Through this Gistro develops his own characters, as real to him as you and me, but as false to others that they beat him if they hear him utter a word of conversation. Although being born into a time to have never witnessed another form of life (including plants), and a government who has erased all knowledge and memories of such a time so successfully that they don’t even know about them, the marvel is left in the imagination he possesses to create such characters with almost no typical human qualities. He reinvents his own world of physics, where these physics apply to him in his mind and result in a substantial effect on his body.

Bastwau (bastwow) - A creation of Gistro’s imagination, Bastwau is his most favoured out of all the characters. Almost ape like, he closely resembles Gistro’s younger self, or who he longed to be as a child (Gistro is 14, but at this time 7 is the age children become adults). Bastwau begins almost ape like, but developes qualities that almost allow him to be anything (Gistro doesn’t realise that through his own reality of physics, he has invented Bastwau to be a creature built up of trillions of micro-organisms, allowing Bastwau to be any living thing possible for carbon based life forms).

Aintree - As Gistro’s neighbour, she has no idea who she is. They’ve never met, but her family are not seclusive and tend to leave the house often, allowing Gistro to see her often out of his window. Being the only girl his age he has ever seen, Gistro immediately brings her into his fantasy world. She is not the damsel, she is the hero. Gistro views her to be the one who saves him from his own misery, his own creations and his seclusion to another world. It is an endless cycle of her appearing to save him in his most dire needs, but having never met her she always appears as a different character under the same name.

Hash-bringingslasher - A major pot smoker (amazing, no knowledge of any other form of life, and he invents a pot smoker, who writes this shit?) who just won’t leave Gistro alone. An invention from Gistro’s imagination, Hash-bringingslasher seperates him from Gistro’s mind and hypothetically becomes a poltergeist… in a sense. He destroys things and slaughters most of Gistro’s characters, causing so much destruction around his house that Gistro repeatedly freaks out thinking the place is trashed… even though it isn’t. This character twists Gistro’s sanity into turmoil and is a constant reminder of how unreal his real world actually is.

Voices - Turning up whenever Gistro’s leasts needs them, Voices are his conscience. They tell him everything that is wrong with what he is doing, why it is all false lies created in his head and constantly remind him of the shit life he tries to hide from. Voices even sometimes appears to encourage Gistro’s thoughts and actions, trying to push him further into escaping his household in every conceivable way, sometimes succeeding with little success. Voices will constantly appear before Gistro as himself, but even Gistro’s imaginary creations think he is crazy talking to himself.

Family.

Velicia - Gistro’s twin sister, being able to see everything Gistro creates with his imagination, follows his stories along and constantly watches him. Only appearing when Gistro is asleep, Velicia takes advantage to enjoy her own fantasies drawn on from her own seclusion from the human touch.

Misha (mesha - Misha is the New Language word for mother, It’s origin unknown as New Language is the only form of language known to exist (like humans). Misha never speaks, and remains as a background character for everytime Gistro nearly gets caught, to only be caught straight after by a stray Bisha following her around.

Bisha (byesha) - Bisha is the New Language word for father. Bisha follows Misha around like a dog, while she remains to appear unaware of his existance, Bisha reluctantly trails after Misha and even performs a few of his own lude acts whilst she sleeps, often viewed by Velicia and Gistro in the background.

Other characters.

Meistro - Gistro’s identity card. Meistro rarely speaks, but often falls into the hands of other imaginary characters who’s DNA doesn’t match Gistro’s, often resulting in a raid of Police searching for the unknown habitants.

Hank - The only imaginary Human, Hank is actually a girl. Although she often appears to have an erection whenever Gistro is getting changed, that is just what Gistro imagines girls do, as he does it himself. Hank follows Gistro, only disapearing when Aintree appears, and then reappears as an angry ex gf demanding to know who Aintree is, everytime. She enfuriates Gistro to the point of hatred.

Babolu (babowloo) - A big pink blob, each individual is in the shape of many animals and plants moving around like humans. These characters are always seen fighting and partying.

Terrence the almighty ostrich - How Gistro invented the name ostrich he will never be sure, but what he does know is Terrence the almighty ostrich has very little answers. In fact every time Gistro approaches him with a dilemma, Terrence only confuses the situation more with further pointless, unrelated questioning.

Marmalade - Terrence’s wife, she (like Misha) has no achknowledgement to Terrence’s existance, and always interupts in the end with the solution Gistro needed. But it comes at a price, and each time Gistro recieves an answer from her, he recieves a vicious beating from his Bisha that same day.
